CANTILEVERS: (According to Wikipedia) A beam anchored at only one end. The beam carries the load to the support where it is forced against by a moment and shear stress. CANTILEVER construction allows for overhanging structures without external bracing. Bridges, trusses, balconies and Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater are some examples of the use of cantilevers.

CANTILEVERS are also present in business and family life...there is the strength, "the glue" or the "go to" person, the adventurous, free-spirit that ventures or juts out with confidence, yet needs the security of the supported structure and the beauty and brains that allows for function with an aesthetic quality.
