This weekend, after recovering from all the festive fun, grab something to write down 12 things you’d like to learn, experience or change about your life. One thing for each month of the year will be the practice for the entire month. So this means you have four weeks to learn, experience or change something about yourself and your life. To simplify this process, break each week into smaller doses of your chosen experience, then by the end of the month you will have fulfilled a commitment to yourself. Do the same for the rest of the months and weeks. This is your project and your rules so create the framework of your experience around your current lifestyle to ensure follow through. This will prove to be a very rewarding process. Have a happy new year!
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Regardless of whether you celebrate Christmas or not, the pagan worship of trees is worth celebrating. Besides, who doesn’t love trees? Put some lights on that puppy, make something chocolatey or spicy to drink, grab the softest blanket and plop down in full view of your glorious shimmering tree. Take in all of the seasonal scents; pine, cinnamon, anise, vanilla and a bit of citrus. Then, maybe do some reflecting on how you’ve balanced your naughty and nice sides this year. And finally, think of one thing you’d like to learn or experience in 2022.
Well here is a quick recipe to stuff in the juicer:
3 Leaves of Kale
3 Rainbow Carrots
2 Mandarins (cuties)
1 Pinch of Diced Fresh Ginger
After putting through a juicer there should be roughly 6 ounces of juice. The carrots and mandarines sweeten the bitterness of the kale and the ginger adds a soft kick of spice. Of course add more or less of each of these to your liking, but be sure to include all of these ingredients for the full vitamin packed benefits.
Looking for a great masticating juicer that won’t wake the neighbors? Try the amzchef slow juice extractor. The juice comes out pulp-free and the clean up is quick and easy.
*This is not a paid affiliation. This is the juicer that I use and love so much!
The weekends of other months are for sleeping in, running errands or completing projects around the house. Weekends in December are for all of those things in addition to decorating, holiday grocery shopping, playing refrigerator tetras, mailing, shipping, meltdowns and purchasing or making gifts. All of that while trying to fit in some seasonal outdoor fun like going to Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania.
Here are some questions to help choose the best gifts for everyone on your list:
What do they talk about frequently? Racing cars, golf, books, cooking, pottery…there are online classes, adventure experiences and online magazine subscriptions for almost anything.
What is their favorite snack? Gift basket with a mixture of their favorite items
Where are they from? Hometown or nostalgic memorabilia or specialty items for the transplants in your life. They will definitely appreciate receiving a piece of home as a gift.
This is a good start to get the gift ideas flowing. Before you know it, the list will be completed and you will be anxious to see your loved ones reactions upon opening such uniquely personal gifts. We shall call this, confident gift giving.
Remember, making gifts personal will mean much more to someone over being expensive and temporary.
