Colosseum III

Ciao Italia!

Bring the history and beauty of Roma into your life…

If you’re looking to bring un pezzo di cielo (a piece of sky), into your home or office, you’re about to get lucky. Now available for download to be displayed how you wish, is “Colosseum III,” an original photo taken on an October morning in Rome. “Colosseum III” is a wide angle view from the inside of the Colosseum. Seeing and wandering about the Colosseum was a surreal experience. This picture transports me right back to the very moment as I was breathlessly taking it in disbelief that I was standing before the Colosseum in Italy! It was a life long dream of mine to go to Italy and there I was, standing inside all of my art history, photography, and travel books in real life. I am so grateful that this dream came true. I am honored to share my personal experience of my trip to Italy through my photos. Colosseum is the first of many to be available for download.

With this download, you are at liberty to print this photo on any medium at any size you wish to fit the scale of your home or office. This photo is for personal use only and not for resale. Further rules are stipulated on the purchase page.

Enjoy this Italian journey through my eyes and heart! Grazie Mille.

House Warming

Welcome the cold winter days and nights with warming items to create Hygge in your home. Hygge is a Danish term meaning to create coziness in life through spending quality time with loved ones while sipping on warm drinks by a fire under a giant blanket. Hygge can also be used to create a moment of self care away from others to recharge the mind and body. It’s more of an essence and a feeling that when created regularly becomes a lifestyle.

Holiday Tablescape

Setting the dinner table for holidays can be almost as daunting as planning, prepping and cooking the meal. This year, consider using items you already have around the house in new and innovative ways. Every concept starts with a vision/feel/vibe/theme and start visualizing your table. Make a list of the items you’d like to use such as a table runner, napkins, candlesticks, dishes, placemats, cutlery and a centerpiece. Next, walk around the house and pull items that look like they compliment the concept of your vision. This is a chance to reimagine and experiment with flipping flower pots of varying sizes upside down to create elevation for your centerpiece. Look for things with texture to ground the table and showcase the lighter items. If there are plants or flowers around the house consider if they will tie your tablescape together as a centerpiece or smaller accents. Keep an open mind and go outside for some natural elements to add such as branches, pine cones and evergreens. Lastly, if time permits, create custom place cards or a handwritten menu as a finishing touch. Enjoy creative tablescaping!

Weekend Design & Wellness Project

This weekend, choose a favorite home decor piece and create a table setting inspired by that item. Consider the colors that you’d like to bring out or support the main piece. Look for fabric around the house that could coordinate as a table runner with the centerpiece. Now, add some dinnerware and cloth napkins if they are accessible. If paper napkins are more convenient, then have some fun folding and making sculptural shapes that will compliment the centerpiece. This exercise is for your eyes only so listen to your instincts and create like a child, then take some pictures, change it around and take more pictures. The more playing and experimenting you do with centerpiece arrangements, the more comfortable and confident you’ll become.
