Weekend Design & Wellness Project

This weekend, plan a dream vacation anywhere in the world. Then create a more realistic vacation or staycation including versions to your dream vacation adventures. For example, if you dream of visiting a European city, but you live on the east coast of the US, you could plan a road trip or book a 1 hour flight to Montreal, Canada. Old Montreal looks and feels like a quaint European city and is a heck of a lot closer than Europe. Another example is if you enjoy camping, but not the preparation involved then create a retreat in your own backyard. Set up tents, build a bonfire and throw up some twinkle lights for a backyard glamping trip. Whatever your dream vacation looks like, enjoy the planning process and stay present for those special moments whether alone or with loved ones.

What city, state or town do you live in or near?

Have you ever explored your own hometown? Is your local area known for; food, museums, architecture, hiking or bike trails, parks, wildlife or historical preservation? If you’re sticking to a budget, but still need a change of scenery this summer, try exploring your surrounding areas.

Make a list of things that make you happy, relaxed and feel like your true self again.

Think about what you would like to explore on this local getaway? What type of experience do you need to calibrate your mind and body so you can return to your normal life refreshed? Does this adventure have a soundtrack you can hear already? Will you be documenting your adventure with photos, video and or journaling?

These are just a few questions to answer in order to plan just the trip that will fill your soul with everything you need. Safe travels!

A good traveler has no fixed plans and has no intent on arriving.
