Hot Spring Beaches
Geothermal heat is generated from the earth’s mantle from volcanic activity and groundwater being heated when molten rock or magma particles rise to the surface. There are therapeutic benefits to hot springs as well as some dangers. Be sure to research any hot springs really well before planning a trip. This weekend, locate the closest hot spring to where you live.
Here is a list of countries with natural hot springs:
United States
Canada
Iceland
Japan
Honduras
Chile
Hungary
India

Cherimoya
“The most delicious fruit known to men.”
Cherimoya, or "cold seeds" is a close relative to the soursop and sweetsop fruits. Grown in Central and South America, cherimoya is both a tropical and subtropical fruit.
Cherimoya has a soft and creamy texture inside that has been compared to a mixture of pineapple and grape. There are many health benefits provided from this delicious fruit in addition to containing potassium and magnesium, including;
reducing inflammation
strengthening of the immune system
promotes healthy digestion
reducing the risk of abnormal cells
improves eye health
maintains healthy blood pressure
Some things to know before consuming a cherimoya are to avoid eating or cracking the black seed inside. They are poisonous as is the outer skin. Simply scoop the fleshy white “meat” of the cherimoya out and enjoy on its own or added to a smoothie.

Jackfruit

Jackfruit is a tropical fruit native to South India and a cousin to fig and mulberry. Jackfruit has low glycemic index, contains antioxidants, fiber and protein.
Jackfruit can be challenging to cut as it is very fibrous. It may be best to sample prepackaged jackfruit that comes in a variety of flavors including barbecue and teriyaki. Jackfruit is a great meat replacement as the texture is that of pulled pork. Canned Jackfruit is also available at most grocery stores while some restaurants offer Jackfruit dishes. These processed versions should be used to experience the taste and texture before hacksawing your way through a fresh Jackfruit. The flavor has been compared to a subtle combination of apple, mango, pineapple and banana.
Beach Yoga
The ocean can provide emotional healing powers if you’re open to letting go of everything that holds you back in life. Physical movement is important to allow blood to flow throughout the body evenly. Movements such as dance and yoga push energy through your body with fluidity. If there is pent up negative energy or suppressed emotions, try Hatha or Vinyasa style yoga on the beach or near a body of water. Mentally unload your troubles into the water during the yoga session while holding an intention of what you need in order to replace those negative emotions. Namaste beach yogi!
